Halloween Orange & Blacks Recipe
Orange and black are the official colors of Halloween. If you’re looking for a good treat to make for your guests at dinner that night, or on the dessert portion of your Halloween BOO-ffet, these Orange & Blacks are luscious. They go well with ice cream or pudding, and both kids and adults love them.

These yummy cookies are not only easy to make, but they can be made well ahead of Halloween and they freeze beautifully.

6 Dozen Cookies

1 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar

3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon hot water

2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup Dutch cocoa powder
3 7/8 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix

2 to 4 cups butterfinger Candy Bars, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl; add the eggs and vanilla.
  3. Dissolve the baking soda in the tablespoon on hot water and add; beat the mixture until light.
  4. Place a fine strainer over the mixture. Measure the flour, salt, cocoa powder, and pudding mix into the strainer and shake through; mix well.
  5. Stir in the chopped candy bars and chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoonful size balls onto parchment or Silpat lined baking sheets.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until just set.
  8. Transfer to cooling racks to cool thoroughly. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
